August, 2012
Dear Families,
I would like to welcome you and your student to fourth
grade. I’m confident that we will have a wonderful year filled with learning,
growing and fun.
My name is Christine Bantley and I have been teaching for 18
years in grades 2-5 and couldn’t love my job more. I have taught in the SRVUSD
district for 15 years and have just returned to the district after teaching 3
years in Bangkok, Thailand at an international school. I have many interests;
photography, food, culture, nature and so many more. I am truly a life long
learner and I hope to share that with your children.
Prior to fourth grade, students have been working on the
basic skills of learning to read, write and do basic math. At the fourth grade
level students can now use these skills to learn deeper content and develop
their critical thinking skills. It’s really a new developmental stage for your
child.
Please join me at Back to School Night in room 303 on
Thursday, Aug 30th from 7-8:30 where I can provide you with more
detailed information about the upcoming school year’s curriculum and
procedures.
Should you need or want to contact me the best way would be
via school email at: cbantle@srvusd.net You can also contact me at school at
855-5100. I look forward to meeting you all soon.
Sincerely,
Christine Bantley
